An Italian Dream About Equal Love: “Ti Sposerò - Jovanotti - San Valentino”
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Italian gay rights group, Arcigay, has released a video whose message needs no translation.
In it, a gay couple is able to stand before supportive friends and family and get married. But the video is aspirational because Italy doesn’t recognize any form of same-sex partnership, nevermind marriage.
The video is one of the latest to emphasize the importance of marriage in expressing commitment rather than as a way to win benefits — an important distinction that is likely to have sway with the movable middle, according to research from the Washington think tank, The Third Way.
This video is a must-watch.
