“Our Story in Letters” - Mike and Dave’s Engagement

Dave videotaped himself holding up signs explaining why he loves Michael — then, the couple’s friends and family (including their dog!) took turns holding up signs that tell the couple’s love story.

“So Michael, king of comics, doctor of all things awesome, drill sergeant to anyone in the kitchen, the cutest nerd in the whole wide world, the cheesiest texter and the best friend and partner anyone could ever ask for… What do you say?” Dave’s signs read. “Can we make this thing official? Will you marry me?”

Mike gives his answer using signs, too.

“Yes!! Obviously! I told him like 3 years ago. But I still cried happysies tears today,” his signs read.

So sweet. Don’t miss this folks.

Gay Couple Gets Engaged Onstage At Garbage Concert In Detroit

From HuffPost Gay Voices:

It was a rock and roll fairytale come true for one Detroit gay man when Garbage’s Shirley Manson halted her band’s March 30 performance at the Majestic Theater so that his boyfriend could pop the question.

“So as it happens I was on my Facebook page yesterday, I was on the tour bus and I was going through messages as we do and we can’t obviously answer everyone,” Manson says to Domenick. “But then I saw this message from your boyfriend Scott and he told me that you were really super amazing … then he told me a few other things about your private life that probably I shouldn’t know.”

Transgender Man Proposes To Partner At White House LGBT Pride Reception

A transgender man made a bold move on Friday during an extravagant White House reception in honor of LGBT Pride Month: he dropped down on one knee and proposed to his partner.

Because of Margolies’ beliefs, she didn’t respond immediately after Scout proposed. Several seconds passed as at least a dozen people gathered and began snapping pictures. Scout said it felt like “about 19 years” passed in those seconds.

“She is crickets. Crickets, crickets,” he said. “She’s backing away from me. Meanwhile, I’m now on my knee scooting. I said, ‘You’re amazing. I love you.’”

“All I’m [thinking] is, ‘Oh fuck, he’s on his knee,’” Margolies replied. “But, I said yes.”

From Huffington Post:

In a heartwarming sign of the post-“Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” era, one gay marine was greeted with a romantic wedding proposal as he returned to San Diego’s Camp Pendleton this week.

As San Diego LGBT Weekly is reporting, Cory Huston — himself a Navy veteran once assigned to the Marines as a hospital corpsman — dropped to one knee before asking U.S. Marine Avarice Guerrero, who was returning home from a long deployment, to marry him. It’s believed to be the first proposal of marriage and engagement between two gay men, not to mention two war vets, on a U.S. military base, according to the publication.

“I was blown away,” Guerrero gushed of his new fiancee. “I was shocked that after all we’d been through, he would honestly want to spend the rest of his life with someone like me.”

A nervous Huston told LGBT Weekly called his decision “a huge step” before Guerrero’s arrival.

‘What Are We Waiting For,’ Gay Wedding Proposal

The video’s star, Danny Rose, describes the experience of proposing to his fiancé Aaron:

“I started writing the song in December and took me a month to complete. Then I prepped the music video for a few weeks and shot it all in one day…

After the video I got down on one knee and asked him to make me the happiest person in the world and spend his life with me! He said of course and it was a great moment. But wanted to watch the video again 30 more times. There are a lot of inside jokes and even some wardrobe choices in there designed to experiences in our history.”

“I think it’s important for folks to see the faces of gay marriage,” Rose adds. “I am not in the music business. I just wanted to do a project for my proposal that was a mixture of music and comedy which is very much the way we live our lives.”

Canada Lesbian Couple’s Engagement During Toronto Maple Leafs-Ottawa Senators Hockey Game

In what is likely the most heartwarming video you’ll see all day, a Canada-based lesbian couple took to the ice of a hockey game during intermission for a crowd-thrilling marriage proposal.

As Yahoo Sports is reporting, a Toronto Maple Leafs fan named Alicia was escorted onto the ice wearing a blindfold. When the blindfold was removed, she looked up at the video scoreboard and read a message from her girlfriend, an Ottawa Senators fan named Christina.

The pair embraced before Christina got down on one knee and slid the engagement ring onto Alicia’s hand. After the couple shared a kiss, the Senators mascot raised a sign that declared: “SHE SAID YES.”
